When is it time to detox?

man with headache250Toxins from internal sources and external sources are accumulated in our bodies. Some of the external sources of toxins include air pollution, cigarette smoke, pesticides, makeup and detergents. Internal toxins come from consuming processed foods, consuming an excessive amount of sugar and salt, a buildup of waste in the body as a result of organ overloaded, excess prescription medications, stress and negative thinking.

Our bodies are “self-cleaning” – meaning our bodies have a built in function to detoxify itself through eliminating and neutralizing toxins through the colon, liver, kidney, lung, lymph and skin. However, because of the tremendous amount of internal and external toxins we are exposed to, our bodies are not able to keep up in the “self-cleaning” process. Cleansing your colon, kidney, liver and spleen by committing to a period of detoxification will take some of the burden off of body’s self-cleaning mechanism and promote and help you maintain good health.
